A hybrid brake system is provided to control front wheels and rear wheels independently by providing a hydraulic brake unit to the front wheels and an electric brake unit to the rear wheels. A hybrid brake system comprises a master cylinder, a brake pedal, a hydraulic brake unit, a displacement sensor, a hydraulic pressure control unit, and an electric brake unit. The brake pedal transfers pedal pressure of a driver to the master cylinder. The displacement sensor is installed at the brake pedal and senses displacement of the brake pedal. The hydraulic brake unit is installed at front wheels of a vehicle and has a wheel cylinder which generates brake power by receiving liquid pressure from the master cylinder. The hydraulic pressure control unit is disposed between the master cylinder and the hydraulic brake unit to control the liquid pressure supplied to the hydraulic brake unit. The electric brake unit is installed at rear wheels of the vehicle and generates brake power through an electric motor. |
