A washing machine (100) in which a water tank (2) for receiving a washing tank (5) is suspended at four points by suspension mechanisms (30a, 30b, 30c, 30d) having suspension wires (31a, 31b, 31c, 31d) and wire body hoisting means (32a, 32b, 32c, 32d) for hoisting the suspension wires. To take out laundry or clothes, the length of the front side suspension wires (31a, 31b) is extended and the length of the rear side suspension wires is reduced to easily tilt forward the water tank (2). When the water tank (2) is lowered, it is supported by support mechanisms (90a,...) having support rods (91a,...) placed in a housing (1). This means that washing, dewatering, etc. can be made with the water tank (2) lowered and a portion of or the entire load of the water tank (2) received by a portion or all of the support mechanisms (90a,...). |
