PURPOSE:To prevent the enlargement of an air outlet formed at a sewn part of low strength at the expanding time of an air bag body by disposing a reinforc ing patch, provided with an opening part corresponding in length to the sewn part of low strength formed at a part of a sewn part in the air bag body, along this sewn part of low strength. CONSTITUTION:An air bag body 1 is formed by sewing a fitting part 2 to a base plate and a bag part 3. A gas filling port 5 is formed at the fitting part 2, and an bag part 3 is formed by sewing ground fabric 6 into the shape of a bag. A sewn part 8 of low strength is formed at a part of a sewn part 7 in the bag part 3. In this case, a reinforcing patch 11 is disposed in such a way as to surround the sewn part 8 of low strength, and an opening part 12 corresponding, in length, to the sewn part 8 of low strength is provided at the reinforcing patch 11. Accordingly, at the expanding time of the air bag body 1, the sewn part 8 of low strength is ruptured to open an air outlet, as well as the enlargement of the air outlet is prevented by the reinforcing patch 11. |
