A lamp unit of a head lamp for a vehicle is provided to improve light flux usage of the light from a light emitting element by forming a mirror member between a reflector and a projection lens. A lamp unit of a head lamp for a vehicle includes a projection lens(12), a light emitting element(14), a reflector(16), and a mirror member(18). The projection lens is arranged on an optical axis(Ax), which is elongated in forward and backward directions of the vehicle. The light emitting element is arranged behind a rear focus of the projection lens. The reflector is arranged to cover the light emitting element from an upper direction. The reflector reflects the light from the light emitting element toward the optical axis in a forward direction. The mirror member is arranged between the reflector and the projection lens and reflects some of the reflected beams from the reflector to an upper direction. |
