An MPSI(Multi-Protocol Serial Interface) device and an SoC(System on Chip) device thereof are provided to offer usage flexibly according to a protocol requested from a user, and reduce the size of a buffer memory by sharing one buffer memory among a plurality of MPSI devices. A controller(330) receives type information of a requested MPSI, and controls a control sequence, or a data type and I/O(Input/Output) time point according to the type information. A data generating/processing unit(350) generates/outputs data by extracting information needed for generating the data from a buffer memory(310) according to the requested MPSI, or transfers information data extracted from the external data to the buffer memory. The data generating/processing unit includes a transmission data generator(351) for generating/outputting the packet or binary type data by using the information extracted from the buffer memory depending on the requested MPSI, and a reception data processor(353) for receiving/classifying the external data into status and information data, and transferring the classified data to the buffer memory or the controller, or outputting the binary type data depending on the requested MPSI. A serial converter(361) receives the data outputted from the transmission data generator in parallel, and converts the parallel data into serial data.
