The stimulation appts. has at least one contact sensor electrode (1,1') for current or potential control and electrodes (4,4') for conveying the current or voltage. An ion generator (3) is placed in series and/or parallel with a gas discharge lamp using at least one potentiometer. The generator is supplied from batteries or mains appts. via at least one leakage field transformer and energises the connected ion emitting or conducting electrodes (4,4', etc.). A potentiometer (5,5', etc.) is assigned to each of the latter to allow the excitation current to be set or to control the potential level. A MOSFET (10) coupled to the lamp (9) allows the current to be limited to, e.g. 1 mA, and the voltage to be varied from, e.g. 50 to 100 V. USE/ADVANTAGE - Migraine, headache, joints or member's pain, lethargy or tonic effect. Can be set to suit individual biology.
