A color image forming apparatus and an image forming unit thereof are provided to form the size of each photoreceptor gear to be greater than that of each photoreceptor as the size of a photoreceptor driving gear is smaller than that of a transfer drum, thereby rotating each photoreceptor stably. A color image forming apparatus includes plural photoreceptors(111,121,131,141), a light scanning device, plural developing devices, a photoconductive drum(151), a transfer device, a motor(171), a photoreceptor driving gear(154), and plural photoreceptor gears(113,123,133,143). The light scanning device scans beam to each photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image. The plural developing devices attach developer to each photoreceptor to form visible images. The transfer drum is in contact with each photoreceptor to rotate so as for the visible images to be transferred and overlapped. The transfer device transfers the visible images overlapped on the transfer drum to print media. The motor rotates the transfer drum. The photoreceptor driving gear has a smaller radius than that of the transfer drum, is installed to have the same rotation center as the transfer drum, and is rotated together during the rotation of the transfer drum. The plural photoreceptor gears have a greater radius than that of each photoreceptor and are coupled to each photoreceptor to be connected to the photoreceptor driving gear. |
