A method for receiving a broadcast program and a broadcast receiver for implementing the same are provided to enable a user to use broadcast programs more usefully by receiving and providing a broadcast program about a specific area or place. A mobile terminal receives and displays a broadcast program which is transmitted through a video broadcast. While displaying the broadcast program, the mobile terminal receives a data broadcast(S41). The mobile terminal confirms whether the data broadcast contains location information related to the broadcast program. If so, the mobile terminal displays an icon which indicates that the location information is being received(S42). If the user touches the displayed icon(S43), the mobile terminal displays an icon to ask the user whether to see the location information right now or to store it(S44).
