The membrane comprises a hydrophobic porous substrate having discontinuous oleophobic and continuous hydrophilic coatings on opposite surfaces. The pores are substantially free of the oleophobic coating. The hydrophilic coating contains an amine group, and is preferably a vinyl alcohol amine polymer. The substrate is preferably a woven, nonwoven or foam PTFE laminate. The oil repelling coating is preferably a fluoropolymer, especially one based on urethane or acrylic esters. The coating method is also claimed. |
