A device for facilitating access to a household appliance includes a first plate comprising a first component 1 which is adapted to be partially slid under an appliance and a second component 2 which is connected to or formed integrally with the first component 1. A second plate 3 is rotatably mounted on the second component 2, the plate having a disc 33 on its underside which is engageable in a hole 23 in the second component 2. One end of the first component 1 has an arcuate surface 12 and the plate 3 has an arcuate surface 32, the two arcuate surfaces having substantially the same radius of curvature. The first component of the first plate is provided with a fold line whereby the first component can be folded over the second plate when the device is not required for use. In use, the first component is slid under an appliance that is in need of service and the appliance is then slid over the first component 1 and onto the plate 3. The first component 1 and the plate 3 are preferably made of or coated with a low friction material for this purpose. The appliance can then be rotated by turning the plate 3 with respect to the first component 1 to gain access to the rear of the appliance. |
