A method for performing a seamless handover of a mobile node (Sender) from which a multicast session originates, said method comprising:
sending said multicast session from said mobile node (Sender) via a unicast link to a node acting as a virtual multicast root (VMR) by acting towards the receivers of said multicast session as the source of said multicast session;
buffering data received from said mobile node (Sender) by said virtual multicast root (VMR);
continuing to send the buffered data by said virtual multicast root (VMR) during a handover (2).
