<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately control toner concentration without reducing JOB efficiency by detecting rapid supply of toner and to obtain a satisfactory image quality free from fogging, toner dispersion or the like by an inexpensive and simple method. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 51 compares an output signal from a toner concentration sensor 44 with a previously determined control value at a prescribed sampling period. At prescribed section time, a toner consumption speed or a toner supply speed from a toner hopper 45 to a developer storing container 43 is determined by a standard deviation of outputs from the toner concentration sensor 44 and toner supply members 46, 47 are controlled through a toner supply driving means 60 to perform toner supply. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
