The cabinet (1) has a base (4) with a trapping door for passing cables, and a case (5) projecting from the base. The case has an upper face with an opening (46) for receiving a cable tracking grid (47), and a side face with a passage opening opposite to the door of the base. The side face is disposed transversally to another side face. The case has a side wall (6) and a cover (7) e.g. thin steel plate, whose perimeter corresponds to a contour of the side wall.
