An inspection system for inspecting cargo using radiation includes a pallet type main conveyor (8) a radiating and scanning unit (1), two secondary conveyors (7) and a rising and falling apparatus (10). The radiating and scanning unit (1) bestrides the pallet type main conveyor (8) and is located over the pallet type main conveyor (8), in order to scan the cargo on the pallet type main conveyor (8). The secondary conveyors (7) are disposed respectively at front end and back end of the pallet type main conveyor (8), in order to load the cargo to be inspected onto the pallet type main conveyor (8) and unload the cargo inspected from the pallet type main conveyor (8). The rising and falling apparatus (10) makes the secondary conveyors (7) up and down.
