Connector apparatus and method

The present disclosure relates to a connector apparatus (10). The connector apparatus comprises a first connector member (20), a second connector member (22) and a fastener (52) attaching the first and second connector members to each other when the fastener is in a first condition. The fastener is operative to allow for detachment of the first and second connector members from each other when the fastener is in a second condition. The fastener is operative to change from the first condition to the second condition in dependence upon an electrical signal. The connector apparatus also comprises a biasing device (50) configured to apply a bias between the first and second connector members, the bias being insufficient to overcome the attachment of the first and second connector members to each other when the fastener is in the first condition, and the bias being sufficient to overcome any residual attachment of the first and second connector members to each other when the fastener is in the second condition.
