PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high purity soluble thrombomodulin substantially free from substances arising from serum and antibody. SOLUTION: This soluble thrombomodulin is obtained by cultivating animal cells capable of producing the soluble thrombomodulin with a culture medium containing serum components and bringing a soluble thrombomodulin solution, which is obtained by bringing the resultant culture supernatant into contact with an antibody against the soluble thrombomodulin followed by elution process to purify, into contact with a cationic exchanger under conditions of a specific conductivity 25-34 ms/cm and pH 3-4 as a through-out fraction. |
