<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of a liquid crystal display device of a double-sided display type, of which the first and second display parts are combined back to back. <P>SOLUTION: Light sources of the first and second display parts of the liquid crystal display device of which the first and second display parts are combined back to back are optically combined. To be more precise, a frontlight is mounted on the first display part and the liquid crystal display device is constructed so as to make light of the frontlight and external light incident from a front face of the first display part function as light of a backlight for the second display part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
