The legs of the chair at least are of solid shaped wood. The rigid and precisely-dimensioned frame(10) under the seat(5) is secured to each leg(6,7,8) at two or more points(20,21). It can have four or more roughly vertical portions(12,13,15,16) parallel to the legs, also horizontal ones(11,14,18,19) between them, these being clear of the underside of the seat. The vertical ones can extend upwards from the horizontal ones, and those parallel to the rear legs can be bent over at the top parallel to the seat and secured to it.
