Needle protectors (40) for housing used blood collection needles (12) are disclosed. The needle protectors have single-piece bodies that include an open distal end (44) for receiving a needle hub (20) (with a needle mounted thereon). A retaining member (60) locks the hub when the needle hub is fully retracted. A viewing slot (62) in one of the walls of the needle protector is provided. |
