Heating unit with reflector having first and second portions respectively in shape of elliptic and parabolic curves

A heating unit for heating a room is disclosed including a reflector 10 having in profile a concavely shaped reflector surface which has two portions, the first 14 defining an elliptic curve with two focal points 18, 20 and the second 24 defining a parabolic curve with a single focal point 22. A heating lamp is placed at the first focal point 18 of the first portion. The second focal point 20 of the first portion is coincident with the focal point 22 of the second portion.
