摘要

The method involves generating credibility functions (m1-m3) from results produced by postal optical character recognitions (OCR) (LAP1-LAP3). The credibility functions are combined, by using a dempster shafer conjunctive combination, in order to generate a resultant credibility function (m). The resulting credibility function is transformed into a probability measurement for deciding an overall postal address result. An image of a current mail is formed from the results for producing postal address results. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for decoding images of mails including parallel postal optical character recognition (OCR) processing (2) a method for constructing a confusion matrix for generating credibility functions for decoding images of mails.
