A display apparatus and a method for driving the same are provided to suppress a magnitude of a voltage applied between a source and a drain of a transistor in the writing by varying a voltage of a video signal applied to signal lines. A display apparatus includes a sampling circuit, plural power lines, and a supply circuit. The sampling circuit samples a video signal. The power lines receive alternately first and second source voltages different from each other. The supply circuit switches sequentially the power lines, varies gradually the sampled video signal, and supplies the varied video signal to one signal line. The first and second source voltages have different phases from each other. A voltage(Vsig) of the video signal is formed as a step or parabola shape. |
