Combination of the analeptic modafinil and an antidepressant for the treatment of depression

Disclosed is a use of modafinil and a pharmacologically active antidepressant in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a depressive order in a patient that has been free of antidepressant therapy for at least 4 weeks. Further disclosed are more detailed treatments for the medicament including dosages and antidepressant combinations.
