A barrel rack for use in stacking and storing barrels is disclosed. The rack includes a frame, for supporting at least one barrel, where the frame is defined as two spaced apart substantially horizontal side rails (4) and two spaced apart transversely aligned cross rails arranged between the side rails (4). Each corner of the frame has a substantially vertically disposed corner post retaining member that is attachable to ends of the side rails and the cross rails. The upper end of the corner post retaining member is adapted to locate and retain, in use, the lower end of a post. The corner post retaining member and the post interfit as they have a similar cross sectional shape. The upper end of the post is of a sufficient length to allow clearance, in use, for the barrel to rest between the side rails (4) of the barrel rack and allow a second barrel rack to be stackable thereon. The lower end of the corner post retaining member is adapted to allow the top end of a post to locate therein. The frame is adapted with at least one pair of barrel cradle members (11) to support the barrel. Each barrel cradle member (11) has a pair of spaced apart rotatably mounted wheels (12) coupled thereto to enable the barrel to rotate.
