A method and a system for providing a bookmarker service are provided to reproduce a corresponding media file in a genre from a final reproducing point by managing a bookmarker corresponding to each media file in the genre. A method for providing a bookmarker service comprises the steps of: generating a bookmarker including reproduction information related to each genre(S270); storing the generated bookmarker corresponding to each genre on a bookmarker storage part(S280); confirming the genre selected by a user and searching the bookmarker corresponding to the confirmed genre from the bookmarker storage part(S220); and reproducing media file in the confirmed genre by using the reproduction information of the searched bookmarker(S250).
