The method involves inserting a radio access technology identifier of an access network in a message of the data transport received from the access network by a session control serving general packet radio services (GPRS) support node equipment by mobile packets. A message identifier is extracted for the session control serving general packet radio services (GPRS) support node equipment. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing the steps of a method for identifying of an access network of a mobile terminal to a communication network by packets (2) a session control serving general packet radio services support node equipment (3) a mobile terminal for inserting a radio access technology identifier of an access network in a message of the data transport (4) a network access controller for inserting a radio access technology identifier of an access network in a message of the data transport (5) a signal emitted by an access network of the mobile terminal.
