The printed material is taken up at different feeder sites (1,2, 3) which are associated with inlets (26, 27, 28) into transport paths (7) which each contain a number of switch points (10, 17) so that unprinted matter can be supplied to individual processing stations (6, 8, 11) or diverted to different delivery sites (18, 19) and/or already printed matter can be sluiced out in sequence. The printed matter can be transported inside the printer unit in superposed planes.
