SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UPGRADING SOFTWARE OF MOBILE TERMINAL

A software upgrade system of a mobile communication terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable the terminal to download a substantially modified software component only to store the downloaded information and to execute upgraded software combined with existing terminal software and the modified software component, thereby easily reflecting modifications of the terminal software on the terminal. A device management server(20) transmits a modified software component to a mobile communication terminal(10). The terminal receives the modified software component from the server to store the component in an embedded memory, and executes upgraded software combined with existing terminal software and the modified software component in case of rebooting. The server sends a rebooting command to the terminal after sending the modified software component to the terminal, and the terminal performs the rebooting according to the command.
