PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which can improve display quality by improving blurring (defocusing) of a display and suppress a decrease in luminance and can make a light and sharp display. SOLUTION: A translucent reflection type liquid crystal display device is provided with a directional forward scattering film 18 and a lighting device 60 so that the light converging direction of the lighting device 60 is within ranges of the azimuth angle ϕm and extreme angle θn of the incidence side of incident light when parallel beam transmitted light transmitted through the directional forward scattering film 18 shows >=1/2 of the sum (Tmax+Tmin) of maximum transmissivity and minimum transmissivity. |
