<p>A functional feed supplement containing herbs comprising citrus peel powder, dandelion powder and the like and sulfur is provided to improve meat quality by remarkably reducing saturated fatty acid content and cholesterol content in pork when fed to a pig. A functional feed supplement contains: herbs comprising 27% by weight of citrus peel powder, 2.4% by weight of catechin powder, 4.2% by weight of dandelion powder, 6.9% by weight of Magnolia Bark powder, 4.1% by weight of Atractylodes Root powder, 4.1% by weight of Poria cocos powder, 4.1% by weight of Epimedium leaf powder, 3.5% by weight of Leonurus Leaf powder, 3.5% by weight of Perilla Leaf powder, 3.5% by weight of Areca Seed powder, 3.5% by weight of Spirodela polyrhiza powder, 3.5% by weight of Raphanus Seed, 3.5% by weight of Bambusae caulis in Taeniam, 3.5% by weight of eggplant powder, 3.5% by weight of Lotus Seed powder, 5% by weight of Licorice Root powder, 4.1% by weight of Cinnamomum Bark powder, 2.5% by weight of oyster shell powder and 3.5% by weight of Crataegus Fruit powder; and 4.1% by weight of sulfur. The functional feed supplement is fed to pigs to obtain pork in which 11% by weight of total cholesterol, 3 to 4% by weight of neutral lipid, 5 to 5.5% by weight of HDL-cholesterol and 6% by weight of LDL-cholesterol are reduced.</p> |
