An apparatus for removing chips on a steel sheet deflector roll in a plating process is provided to improve steel sheet-electroplating operability as a whole by effectively removing chips formed on a surface of the steel sheet deflector roll that guides transfer of a steel sheet to a conductor roll in a plating vessel filled with a plating solution. In an apparatus(1) for removing chips on a steel sheet deflector roll(130) disposed in the circumference of a plating vessel to guide transfer of the steel sheet during electroplating of a steel sheet, the apparatus for removing chips on the steel sheet deflector roll in a plating process comprises: a drip pan unit(10) which is disposed under the steel sheet deflector roll, and in which a chip removing solution for removing the chips is circulated; and a chip removing roll(30) which is rotatably provided in a state that the chip removing roll is at least partially immersed into the chip removing solution in the drip pan unit, and which is closely adhered to a surface of the steel sheet deflector roll to remove the chips on the deflector roll. The drip pan unit includes a drip pan body(12), a drip pan cover(14), and flexible shaft covers(18). The chip removing roll is connected with lifting units(50) and a drive unit(70) and installed on the drip pan unit such that the chip removing roll is rotatable and liftable. The lifting units each include a bearing block(52), a lifting shaft(54) for fine lifting adjustment, a gear box(58), and a lifting cylinder(60). The drive unit includes a universal joint(72) and a drive motor(74).
