<p>A cellulose ester film is provided to realize low humidity dependency and a high retardation value so that the film is used as a compensation film for a polarizer filter. A cellulose ester film comprises: a retardation controlling agent; and a cellulose ester satisfying the condition of O<=P1<=0.050 (wherein P1 is an orientation degree along the plane direction of the cellulose ester film). The cellulose ester film has a retardation value(Re) of 40 nm-80 nm in the plane direction, and the retardation value(Re) is defined by the formula of Re=(nx-ny)xd, wherein nx is the refractive index of the cellulose ester film in the in-plane phase-lag axis direction, ny is the refractive index in the in-plane phase-lead axis direction, and d is the thickness(nm) of the cellulose ester film.</p> |
