A hybrid automobile does not have an alternator found in conventional engine-powered vehicles because electric power is generated by a motor generator whose rotating shaft is mechanically connected to the output shaft of an engine (ENG). A DC/DC converter (22) is separated from a power control unit and installed at that place of the engine (ENG) where an alternator, replaced with a motor generator, was located. |
