An ink for a color filter, a color filter prepared by using the ink, an image display device containing the color filter, and an electronic device containing the image display device are provided to inhibit the generation of color stain and concentration stain and to improve the uniformity of characteristics of individual parts of a color filter. An ink for a color filter comprises a colorant; and a liquid medium where the colorant is dissolved and/or dispersed, wherein the liquid medium has a C4 or more alkoxy group and/or an acetyl group at the terminal of a molecular chain, and the cured product of an epoxy curing agent has an expansion of 30 % or less when it is left alone in the sealed liquid medium at a temperature of 40 deg.C and at an atmospheric pressure for 10 days.
