<p>An electronic illuminated sign 1 comprises an image reproducing unit 2, a storage device for storing image information and a control unit for activating the image reproducing unit on the basis of the stored information. The image reproducing unit may be an LCD, TFT or preferably an OLED display. The storage device preferably holds data of a plurality of images and an interface is provided to select which image is displayed. The interface may be connected to a central control system which is part of a dynamic emergency escape or fire exit route directing system. The sign may include accumulators for power, means for providing emergency lighting, and a system for logging image changes.</p> |
