2D/3D LIQUID DISPLAY DEVICE AND THE DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

A 2D/3D LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent flickering by controlling driving frequencies according to an input image signal. A 2D/3D LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a display unit(200) and a controller(100). The display unit includes plural gate and data lines which are crossed each other, and plural pixels at cross sections where the gate and data lines cross each other. The controller receives input signals and sets first and second driving frequencies according to the input signals. The controller includes a 2D/3D determiner and a timing controller. The 2D/3D determiner determines whether the input signals are a 2D or 3D image signal. The timing controller sets a driving frequency as first and second driving frequencies during 2D and 3D image display periods according to the 2D and 3D signals, respectively. One frame image based on the second driving frequency is displayed by receiving the same image data during the first and second periods. Polarities of image signals delivered to one of the plural pixels during the first and second periods have first and second polarities, respectively.
