A socket apparatus of a gear shift cable for a vehicle is provided to allow the socket to easily fit into a groove at a complex and narrow inside of a vehicle and to prevent the socket from being separated from a bracket. A socket apparatus of a gear shift cable for a vehicle comprises a socket(10) formed with a fixed groove(21), which is cut in an outer peripheral surface of body portion(20), and a U-shaped bracket(30) fixed to a vehicle body corresponding to the fixed groove. The fixed groove includes a plurality of stepped portions, which are prepared by forming a second single stepped portion(23) inward a first single stepped portion(22). The bracket surrounds an outer peripheral surface of the first single stepped portion and allows a first fixed body (31) to be protruded into an inner peripheral surface of the first single stepped portion.
