FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: valve travel indicator comprises indicating part (34) and retaining part. Indicating part (34) points the position on the valve indicator scale (36). The retaining part is press-fitted on the valve stem to make a fixed joint between the indicating part and moving valve stem (26). The retaining part ensures a moving joint between indicating part (34) and valve stem (26), given the preset force applied to indicating part (34). There are a design of the aforesaid valve and a method of moving the valve travel indicator along the valve stem.
