PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method, which facilitate the printing of glittering expression. SOLUTION: This printer comprises: a nozzle 12 for ejecting a holographic recording material in a dot pattern onto paper 3; a hologram recording optical system 100 for recording interference fringes by simultaneously applying a plurality of laser beams onto the holographic recording material ejected by the recording material nozzle; and a scanning drive unit for moving the nozzle 12 and the optical system 100 relatively with respect to a supporting body.
