PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device such that an exterior surface of a case of electronic equipment provided with the electrooptical device matches a surface of a transparent member of the electrooptical device as much as possible so as not to expose an end surface portion of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, and to provide the electronic equipment. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 has a display panel 11, a cover 12 which is a plate type member disposed on a view side of the display panel 11 and has a step portion thinner than a center portion of the plate type member at an edge on the outer circumferential side, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive material 13 provided between the cover 12 and display panel 11 to stick the cover 12 and display panel 11 together, an outer circumferential end surface portion being in a region of an outer circumferential edge portion when viewing the display panel 11 in plan view of the display a panel 11.
