PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deformation of a lens by uniform caulking and fixing relative to the lens. SOLUTION: A lens holding frame 10 provided with a lens holding section 11 having a hollow cylindrical form, is mounted on a rotary support shaft 20 which is rotatable around a central axis line O via a position adjustment mechanism 30. The lens holding frame 10 is rotated together with the rotation of the rotary support shaft 20. The position of a lens holding part 11 is detected over the entire circumference by a gauge head 36. Based on this detected value, the position adjusting mechanism 30 is moved, thereby moving the lens holding frame 10 in a direction perpendicular to the central axis line O of the rotary support shaft 20 and changing the angle of the lens holding frame 10 relative to the central axis line O. Thus, the position of the lens holding part 11 is adjusted so that the center axis of the lens holding part 11 coincides with the central axis line O of the rotary support shaft 20.
