<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of suppressing short circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell includes a structure string by arraying a plurality of structures in one direction, each of which has: a membrane electrode assembly having an electrolyte membrane, a first electrode provided on one surface of the electrolyte membrane and a second electrode provided on the other surface of the electrolyte membrane; a first current collector arranged on the first electrode side; and a second current collector arranged on the second electrode side, and a case member in which the plurality of structure strings are housed. In the fuel cell, at least a first structure string and a second structure string disposed adjacent to each other are provided in the plurality of structure strings, the plurality of the structures provided in the first structure string and the second structure string are electrically connected in series while the first structure string and the second structure string are electrically connected in series, and an energization prevention means is provided which prevents electrical connection between the first current collector or the second current collector provided in the structure of the first structure string, and the second current collector or the first current collector provided in the structure of the second structure string. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
