<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of preventing more certainly deterioration of an electrolyte membrane due to hydrogen peroxide radicals. <P>SOLUTION: The portion of an edge part of an electrolyte membrane 4 of which the surface is not covered by electrodes 6, 8 is covered by a seal member 30.
