<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce degradation in image quality due to difference in the width of effective exposure to light of each LED printing head in an image forming device equipped with a plurality of LED printing heads having different resolution. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming device, latent images are formed by an LED element corresponding to first and second element Nos. RA and LA of LED printing heads (LPH) 33Y, 33M and 33C and an LED element corresponding to first and second element Nos. RA and LA of an LED printing head (LPH) 33K, respectively. Then the LED element corresponding to the first and second element Nos RA and LA of the LPH 33K is changed to another LED element according to a determination result whether or not the position in the main scanning direction based on the latent image formed by the LED element corresponding to the first and second element Nos.
