JOINT PORTION FIXING STRUCTURE OF SURFACE MATERIAL IN SURFACE COATED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide joint portion fixing structure of a surface material capable of properly fixing a joint portion to a desirable position of a base material in a surface coated article formed by coating the base material with a surface main body having the joint portion connecting both ends of the surface material to each other.

SOLUTION: A center console 20 is formed by coating a console main body 35 with the surface main body 31 having the joint portion 37 connecting a top surface material 31a and a side surface material 31b to each other in ends thereof. The surface main body 31 is provided with core members 38 and 39 along the joint portion 37, and a recessed part 35a formed in the edge of the console main body 35 and a projecting part 37a formed by the core members 38 and 39 in the surface main body 31 are fitted to each other.
