PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification device capable of maintaining safety and easy for a user to use. SOLUTION: The personal identification device 10 includes a camera 12, a face collation part 14, a communication part 16, a personal belongings collation part 18, a storage part 20, and a judgement part 22, performs particularly both an authentication system using a face image and an authentication system using the belongings, and judges whether or not a person 30 to be authenticated is a principal. When the person is not authenticated as a principal by one of the authentication systems, a level of authentication by the other authentication system is raised to make strict judgement. Thus, the principal authentication is made possible even when a photography environment or communication environment is bad and the person is not identified as a principal by one authentication system, so that the personal identification device easier for a user to use can be provided.
