PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an organic EL display capable of improving a flying characteristic of ink droplets, of improving display quality and of lowering leakage current. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of an organic electroluminescent display is used for forming an organic electroluminescent layer, by applying a coating liquid containing a polymer material by an ink jet method, and the manufacturing method of the organic electroluminescent display includes a process of adjusting the viscosity of the coating liquid at a shear rate of 10,000/s not smaller than 0.8 times the viscosity of the coating liquid at a shear rate of 100/s.
