The material feed system is for a press mold, in the production of cement or concrete paving stones, to form a second layer or a layer (P) on their upper or under sides. A distribution shaft (13) is carried by a slide (10), with a reciprocating movement over the mold. A fixed hopper (15), over the slide, delivers the material to a continuous conveyor belt (11) covering the whole length of the slide stroke movement. The material is passed continuously or at intervals into the distribution shaft for transfer to the mold.
