The cam shaft is formed as an oil mist separator for deposition of oil portions from the gas, and an oil separation compartment (7) is axially connected to the cam shaft. An inlet (9) of a drain (10) is arranged in a slow-flow region (8) of the oil separation compartment for extracting cleaned blow-by-gas from the oil separation compartment.
