METHOD OF ARTIFICIAL LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE USING SEWAGE SLUDGE

A method for manufacturing artificial lightweight aggregate is provided to produce concrete slab having lightweight/heavyweight crashing sound values equal to general concrete slab. A method for manufacturing artificial lightweight aggregate using sewage sludge includes the steps of: grinding 20-30wt% of sewage sludge, 10-20wt% of coal fly ash, and 60wt% of clay into powders(1 mm or smaller) using an ordinary grinder; mixing 100wt% of the powders with 20wt% of water in a predetermined ratio; molding the mixture into cylindrical aggregate having a diameter of 7-10 mm using an ordinary kneader; and firing the molded aggregate in a rotary kiln at 1100-1200 °C for 10-15 minutes.
